Hope That Doesn’t Die
Dear Lord Jesus, I admit that I’ve fallen short. I’ve sinned and need your forgiveness. I believe that You lived, died, and rose again so that I could be connected to God. I confess you as my Lord and personal Savior. I give you my past, present, and future. Take my life and use it. I give it to You. Thank You for saving me. Amen.Tell Us Your Story

The Main Idea
Imagine a movement that outlived its leader’s death—unlike every other failed revolution. Imagine followers who didn’t scatter, but instead grew in number and transformed the world. That’s the story of Christianity. But why? What made this one different? The answer lies in the resurrection.
And if the resurrection really happened—then it changes everything. It means the hope Jesus offers is more powerful than fear, regret, failure, or even death. It’s a hope that doesn’t die. The Easter story is not a fairy tale. It’s an invitation to see that God goes before us, rolls away the unmovable stones in our lives, and offers us a fresh start.
Scriptures
Mark 16:1-8
When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body. 2 Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb 3 and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?”
4 But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. 5 As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.
6 “Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. 7 But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.’”
8 Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid
Deuteronomy 31:6
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.
Questions for Discussion
- Icebreaker: What’s one thing that recently felt “unmovable” in your life—but turned out differently than you expected?
- What stands out to you about the resurrection story in Mark 16:1–8? Why do you think the women were the first to hear the good news?
- Read Mark 16:6–7. What does it mean to you that God goes ahead of you, especially in uncertain times?
- Why do you think the resurrection continues to inspire faith, transformation, and hope today? How has it impacted your life?
If Jesus really rose from the dead, it means our hope is alive. The stone is already rolled away. God is already there—working ahead of you. Don’t be alarmed. Whatever you’re facing, you don’t face it alone. Walk in resurrection hope.
