Main Idea

No matter the circumstances or intentions of others, God is orchestrating events for the good of those who love Him, aligning them with His purpose and offering hope, provision, and a future.

Romans 8:28

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose.

Genesis 50: 20-21

20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. 21 So then, don’t be afraid. I will provide for you and your children.” And he reassured them and spoke kindly to them.

Jeremiah 29:11-13

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

  • Reflecting on Jeremiah 29:11-13, how does knowing that God’s plans are to prosper and not harm us impact our approach to prayer and seeking Him?
  • Discuss the role of faith and trust in God’s sovereignty when we encounter challenges or obstacles that seem contrary to His promises of working for our good.
  • How does the assurance of God’s purpose for our lives impact our actions and decision-making? How can we align our goals and ambitions with His ultimate plan?
  • Share practical ways in which we can encourage and support one another in recognizing and pursuing God’s purpose in our lives.
